Web Host NSDesign Goes Green
April 1, 2008 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Scottish web host NSDesign (http://www.nsdesign.co.uk/) is offering a new Green web hosting package, it was announced recently. The company has partnered with Tree Appeal (http://www.treeappeal.com), an organization that helps responsible organizations reduce their environmental footprint, to create a package that is geared towards the companys environmentally conscious client base. The package requires the companys customers to make an optional contribution of £5.00 ($9.9), which NSDesign matches. The money then pays for the planting of one native broad-leaved tree such as oak, beech and ash.
Weve always been highly focused on environmentally friendly business practices like choosing to host our web servers in a Carbon Neutral Data Center or recently offsetting our entire carbon footprint, and our Go Green campaign allows our customers to get involved, and help put something back into the environment, suggested Gary Ennis, NSDesigns Managing Director.
"Initiatives like Tree Appeal help support the governments strategy for sustainable development, with its aims of integrating our objectives on social progress, effective protection of the environment, prudent use of natural resources and high and stable levels of economic growth and employment to ensure a better quality of life for everyone, now and for generations to come," suggested British MP Jim Knight, who is Minister for Rural Affairs, Landscape and Biodiversity.
