Open source software company
Open-Xchange has announced that Richard Landsman is now their new Chief Technical Officer (CTO). Mr. Landsman will work from the German company's office in San Jose, California and be responsible for its product and technological vision. He will also be responsible for retaining and building partnerships within the OX ecosystem. Outgoing CTO Juergen Geck is to remain at Open-Xchange in a consultancy position.
Open-Xchange is a privately owned company with headquarters in Nuremberg, Germany and offices in New York and San Jose. It is best known for providing the OX App Suite - a communication and collaboration solution which is marketed as an alternative to solutions like Microsoft Exchange. The company is the partner of numerous web hosting companies including Hostway, Host Europe Group, 1&1 Internet, Network Solutions and Strato.
Mr. Landsman brings a wealth of experience to his position. Prior to joining Open-Xchange he was VP for Engineering and Product at email infrastructure provider Openwave Messaging. His extensive career has seen him involved in a number of messaging companies, including AOL, where he was in charge of the company's global mail business. In addition, Mr. Landsman has had roles at a number of start-ups, including iUniverse, Project Slice and Mailblocks. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts where he gained a Bachelor's degree in Management and Finance. He holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Boston University.
