Open-Xchange and Funambol Partner on Mobile Email and PIM Sync

October 17, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Open-Xchange (http://www.open-xchange.com) and Funambol (http://www.funambol.com) have partnered, it was announced recently. The companies will work together on mobile email and Personal Information Manager (PIM) Sync for popular handsets including iPhone, Android phones, Windows Mobile phones, and BlackBerries. Users will be able to “easily receive push email and synchronize with contacts, calendar and other information on their desktops using open source software from Open-Xchange”.

The Open-Xchange Hosting Edition offers PIM features alongside email, calendaring, contacts, task management, and “groupware features” including “Documail and Smart Document Sharing”. The solution is of importance to smaller businesses with a geographically diverse workforce and individuals involved in projects. A number of providers currently offer an online Open-Xchange solution.
