December 3, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Mac users can now access Open-Xchange Groupware thanks to Open Source collaboration software, it was reported recently. Open-Xchange recently previewed its iSync connector called OXtender for Mac OS X, which makes Open-Xchange emails, appointments, contacts, tasks and documents available to end users through their native Mac applications (mail, iCal and address book). The solution also enables synchronization on mobile devices.
The system allows users to wok independently of Internet connection, synchronizing changes between Macs and Open-Xchange once Internet connection is achieved. Open-Xchange also facilitates usage on devices such as iPhones, iPods, cell phones and software from third-party ISVs that support iSync. MobileMe users also get new email, calendar and contact entries via their iPhone “over the air” push service.
