The agreement gives U.S. airlines access to more Indian cities and is expected to lower outsourcing costs for American companies.

As reported by ComputerWorld.com, the U.S. is the largest market for Indian software development and services outsourcers. In the fiscal year to March 31, 2004, about 70% of the revenues of these companies came from the U.S., according to the National Association of Software and Service Companies in Delhi.

"Travel is very important to our business, both from a business development perspective and from an execution standpoint," said Ramakrishnan Ramamurthy, general manager for enterprise application services in the Wipro Technologies division of Wipro Ltd., a software development and services outsourcer in Bangalore.
