Parallels Summit 2010 "News of the Day"

More than 1100 people are attending Parallels Summit 2010 in Miami, to focus on small businesses moving their IT services to the cloud and how hosters and cloud services providers can innovate, optimize and grow in order to profit from the cloud.

Parallels Outlines Technology Roadmap
In 2010, Parallels will introduce support for Microsoft Exchange 2010 as well as VoIP services for messaging and collaboration in its automation products. Additionally, the company will offer Parallels Server for Mac Bare Metal Edition and Parallels Virtuozzo Containers v4.6 for virtualized infrastructure services, and Parallels Small Business Panel and Partner Marketplace v2 for broader SaaS applications.

Jack Zubarev, President, Parallels emphasized that offering a broader portfolio of cloud-based services to small businesses can impact customer retention and the bottom line for hosting companies and VARs. "For these companies, particularly shared Web hosters, offering services such as messaging and collaboration in addition to Web site hosting can significantly improve profitability and decrease churn," said Mr. Zubarev.

Other news at Parallels Summit included:
Go Daddy, the world’s leader in domain name registrations and dominant Web hosting provider, officially introduced its Mac Hosting solution, Cloud Server powered by Mac OS X. The new virtual dedicated servers provide the power of a dedicated Mac OS X server for a fraction of the cost.

ParaScale, Inc., a leader in developing cloud storage software solutions, demonstrated the ParaScale Cloud storage 2..0 platform, in what it believes is the next generation of cloud storage.
