Peter Cohen has joined cybersecurity company Fortinet’s board of directors.
Fortinet, which has headquarters in Sunnyvale, California, United States, was established in 2000. The company offers a range of services that offer customers “intelligent, seamless protection” against a range of threats. The company protects around 310,000 customers against security challenges that impact networked, application, cloud or mobile environments. Mr. Cohen is a former co-founder of cloud giant Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Mr. Cohen held was an Amazon executive for 17 years and held business and technical positions that made him responsible for the growth of its business. He was in charge of product development at the company and oversaw a number of AWS cloud solutions. He was also responsible for strategy and acquisitions. He holds a number of cloud patents. “Fortinet has experienced tremendous growth through its differentiated Security Fabric architecture that extends its leading-edge security capabilities to any network environment, from on-premise, to IoT endpoints and out to the cloud,” explained Mr. Cohen. “I am honored to be joining its board to help provide strategic counsel on the cloud technology priorities, partnerships and innovations that will help contribute to the company’s continued momentum with enterprise customers.”
