Web Hosting Provider Port City Web Achieves Microsoft ISV Status for Google and ProductCart Shopping Cart Automation Software

August 21, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Port City Web (http://www.portcityweb.com) has achieved Microsoft ISV status for Google and ProductCart Shopping Cart automation software, it was announced yesterday. The award-winning website and eCommerce design, development, hosting and online marketing company has software under development that automates delivery of product content from the ProductCart shopping cart to Google Base.

"Acceptance into the Microsoft ISV program exemplifies how Port City Web is committed to being a strong stand-out in the crowded field of website and eCommerce development and marketing," explained Port City Web’s President and CEO, Erik Crago. "Most marketing firms, ad agencies, web development or design companies claim to do eCommerce work. At Port City Web, eCommerce is the core of our business, accounting for approximately $1 million of our annual revenue. The software that we are developing emphasizes our significant experience and strength in eCommerce compared to our regional competition".

"In my opinion, Google Base is the best way to get your content indexed by Google," noted Crago. "While some tools exist to get content up to Google Base, many people are too busy to deal with a manual process. Our software will automate the entire process, which will eliminate the manual time spent and increase the regularity of updates to Google Base. By getting fresh content up to Google on a regular schedule, we can get more product pages and more products listed faster on Google, all while reducing the manual time now spent on such tasks," he added.

Port City Web is an eMarketing and eCommerce website development company that “designs, develops and hosts business websites”. Beta testing of the company’s development will take another 6 months while the product is completed. Launch will be around the first half of 2008.
