 |
May 14, 2007 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) - India-based Purplenova (http://www.purplenova.com) has announced the release of Purplenova 3.0, a solution the company is terming The Easy Web Server. According to Purplenova, the latest version of its solution allows users to web host content directly from an Internet-connected PC, and provides a viable alternative to paid web hosting services.
Purplenova 3.0 offers a range of features including the ability to interface with traditional web servers such as IIS and Apache. The company suggests users can install websites even on computers that are secured by Firewalls, Routers or Network Address Translation Devices. Purplenova 3.0 also supports third-party applications. Users can write their own desktop applications and execute remotely through the system.
First launched as self-publishing software, the system supports HTML, ASP, PERL, PHP, although some of the features offered are though still in Beta testing. The solution also offers a Master Proxy that adds Firewall protection from malicious attacks.
Since inception, Purplenova has matured to cater for the individual and small business hosting markets. The company licenses its technologies for integration into third-party offerings such as Internet communities, application vendors, and publishing solutions. |
