Data Center Infrastructure and Network Services Provider RackForce Launches DDS-V Based on Microsoft Hyper-V
October 1, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Data center infrastructure and network services provider RackForce Networks (http://www.rackforce.com) has launched DDS-V based on Microsoft Hyper-V, it was announced yesterday. DDS-V is a robust "cloud computing" environment that combines Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization technology and the latest in RackForce’s virtual server line of Dynamic Dedicated Servers.
“RackForce has long been touted as the 'virtualization experts',” explained Randall Robinson, General Manager of RackForce. “Since RackForce's launch of its Dynamic Dedicated Services strategy in 2003 we have been providing advanced hosting solutions through virtual server technology to a global market. With the DDS-V initiative we asked our solutions/product team to build an enterprise class solution with complete ON Demand scalability. We believe we are the first to market with such a powerful and scalable solution that is based on technology from major vendors."
According to the company, DDS-V separates storage, CPU and memory resources from the physical server and resources can be “scaled instantly” as data is not stored on traditional hard drives, but stored on a SAN. "We have been working with Hyper-V in its various incarnations since the first alpha version came out,” added RackForce's Chief Solutions Architect, James Bothe. “Microsoft did a great job getting out a solid virtualization technology. When we combined it with the IBM SAN and x3950 servers it all came together. I believe we have hit it out of the park with the DDS-V solution."
RackForce is located British Columbia, Canada. The company provides highly reliable On Demand servers, collocation and connectivity to a global customer base. The company will open a “technologically advanced 150,000 square foot GigaCenter” in December 2008.
