Web Hosting Provider Rackspace to Offer Managed Exchange

May 9, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Managed web hosting provider Rackspace will offers managed Exchange services through its US and European operations, it was reported yesterday. The service will be available towards the end of May. According to reports, Rackspace’s Managing Director for the EMEA region, Mr. Jacques Grayling, suggested the advantage of the company’s service will be customers being able to pay a fixed monthly fee for a mailbox rather than purchase their a license for their own server.

Although headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, UK, Rackspace operates three data centers in co-location sites in the UK. A fourth center is expected to be opened in Slough, UK, in 2008. About 20% of the company’s UK revenue is from customers in other countries. As a result, Rackspace is focusing efforts in other parts of Europe and has appointed regional managers for Benelux and Scandinavian countries. Rackspace receives around 30% of its revenue from EMEA.

Rackspace bills itself as “Europe's most successful managed hosting company,” providing hosting for “mission critical websites and Internet applications for over 2,500 customers”. The company suggests it is “currently experiencing growth of around 80% per year” and is Europe's fastest growing managed hosting company.
