Research Suggests Some Businesses are Significantly Increasing Profits by Adopting the Cloud
A new study suggests that some businesses are significantly increasing profits by adopting the cloud. The research was conducted by software company Exact and Pb7 Research, both of which are based in the Netherlands. It suggests that some companies have experienced 200% growth in profits and 25% revenue growth as a result of adopting cloud technology.

The study suggests that many of the best results have been experienced by small companies who have seen tremendous ROI on cloud adoption. It suggests that while some companies initially had doubts about issues such as security before adopting the cloud, security was the key reason for a number of smaller companies wanting to implement cloud solutions. The research also suggested that cloud development and enhanced security features have made the cloud more secure, a fact that has further driven interest in cloud solutions.

The research also suggests that reducing IT costs has been key to driving the growth of the cloud. Again, small businesses find the cloud most beneficial, with at least 50% of all US-based small businesses adopting at least one cloud solution. Reduced IT maintenance was also cited as making the cloud attractive.

Cloud solutions often do not require maintenance and companies often no longer have to purchase software once the cloud is adopted. The cloud, the research suggests, also increases productivity, with staff no longer bound to a desk and able to operate anywhere using PC’s laptops and a range of mobile devices, including tablets and phones. Improved collaboration capability through the cloud plays a key part in increasing productivity, the study suggests.
