Software-defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) solutions provider PLUMgrid and open network products provider
Edgecore Networks Corporation (Edgecore) have formed a partnership. PLUMgrid, which has headquarters in Santa Clara, California, United States, provides solutions that allow data centers to connect ‘tenants, applications and workloads efficiently across hypervisors, virtualized, container and bare metal architectures’.
Edgecore, which has headquarters in Taiwan, is an Accton Technology Corporation company. It provides wired and wireless networking technologies and caters to data center and business customers of a range of sizes which it offers through channel partners and global system integrators. The company is a recognized leader in Open Networking solution, with a range of offerings that include 1GbE, 10GbE, 25GbE, 40GbE, 50GbE and 100GbE open and OCP switches.
The two companies have signed a reseller agreement which will extend PLUMgrid's Asian footprint. Edgecore will resell PLUMgrid's full range of solutions including its CloudApex SDN visualization platform and its Open Networking Suite (ONS) for OpenStack solution. Edgecore will provide staff that have been trained and certified by PLUMgrid University. Edgecore's background and expertise in reselling and consulting alongside to provide the PLUMgrid SDN range means customer will benefit from a ‘powerful cloud solution with excellent services and support’.
