August 9, 2005 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Internet giant Google faces a class action from advertisers who claim the company overcharged for its paid search advertising programs. The claim suggests Google charged advertisers more than their daily budgets set as advertising limits when registering for the companys programs.
Because of the nature of its services, only a thorough investigation of Googles accounts and accounting practices will uncover if the claimed overcharging actually occurred. Googles Steve Langdon said of the claims, "(They) are without merit and we will defend against (them) vigorously. Google receives most of its revenue from advertising and recently exceeded profit expectations for the first half of 2005.
