January 24, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – ServerPoint (http://www.serverpoint.com), a leading provider of shared, reseller, colocated, dedicated and VPS hosting solutions, announced today it has added a new gigabit uplink from XO Communications, providing additional network redundancy and capacity for its Las Vegas, Nevada, USA datacenter facility.
The addition of the new connection provides ServerPoint with new routes for data entering and leaving its network, allowing many visitors to connect to hosted sites at lower latency. With the added redundancy the connection provides, ServerPoint can also minimize the chance of any possible network downtime.
“XO has a very large network that peers with every other major provider, in addition to having the largest IP capacity in Las Vegas,” said ServerPoint CTO Erik Johnson. “Having worked with XO communications previously, we are confident our customers will benefit from the high quality network access they provide.”
ServerPoint hopes to increase its network capacity to 8-10 gigabits within a year.
