November 24, 2005 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – In a bid to boost its available services, Singaporean web hosting provider ‘8 to Infinity Pte Ltd.’ has established a Research and Development Division, it was announced this week. Rather than attempting to develop the company’s expertise in a broad range of areas, the new division will specialize in only a few, focusing on issues such as server redundancy, load balancing and firewall solutions. The division will also utilize existing technologies while developing new web hosting solutions.
"Given the intensity of competition in the web hosting arena, prices are falling and hosting is regarded as more of a commodity than a service. 8 to Infinity hopes that by having more research done on the web hosting technologies, we are able to enhance our service level and move up the value chain," said Lim Boon Chuan, Chief Technical Officer of 8 to Infinity.
8 to Infinity caters for web hosting users worldwide including Singapore, Hong Kong and the USA. The company has been in operation since 1997 and offers Linux, Unix and Window 2003 virtual and dedicated servers.
