SmarterTools Inc. is proud to announce that a partnership with Microsoft Corp. will provide customers the ability to license Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync for use with the SmarterMail mail server software. With the release of SmarterMail 6.x, ActiveSync will be available as an optional add-on for those users that want to synchronize email, calendars, tasks, and notes between mobile devices using Microsoft's Exchange ActiveSync technology.

Licensing for the ActiveSync add-on will be based on a yearly subscription that is priced well below the competition. In addition, SmarterTools will allow customers to add ActiveSync to only the mailboxes that need the technology, making adoption of the add-on easy and affordable for small to medium sized businesses (SMBs) and the ISP/hosting industry.
SmarterMail 6.x brings enterprise-level functionality to businesses, ISPs, and Web hosting environments. Scalable and easy to manage, SmarterMail features a rich Webmail interface; collaboration; reporting; throttling; synchronization with Microsoft Outlook, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile devices, and Apple’s iPhone—including the new iPhone 3GS; and an event-driven architecture that provides automated actions and notifications. Enhanced antispam, antivirus, and security features provide protection out-of-the-box.
