Social Network Facebook Making ‘Facebook for Work’ Publically Available
Social network Facebook is soon to make ‘Facebook for Work’ publically available to all businesses without the need for an invitation. The new version of Facebook has been tested over the last year by organizations like the Royal Bank of Scotland and is expected to be launched in the next few months.

As the name suggests, Facebook for Work is a closed version of Facebook that is only available within a specific workforce. It competes with solutions like Microsoft’s Yammer, Bitrix24 and LinkedIn, but has a unique selling point – it operates in almost exactly the same way as the standard Facebook service, and as the bulk of any workforce is likely to be familiar with how to use Facebook, it will be unnecessary for businesses to train their staff to use Facebook for Work.

"I would say 95 percent of what we developed for Facebook is also adopted for Facebook at Work," explained Facebook’s Director of Global Platform Partnerships Julien Codorniou in a discussion with Reuters.

Unlike the standard Facebook, Facebook for Work will be available on a subscription basis. It will also offer more security options than its counterpart and the games that are popular on the standard Facebook platform (FarmVille, etc.) will not be available through the enterprise version.
