Software Development Company Imposant Announces UptimeInspector Launch

July 15, 2008
July 15, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Software development company Imposant has announced the launch of its new UptimeInspector Server Monitoring Service (http://www.uptimeinspector.com), it was reported yesterday. The company’s new Web 2.0 application “monitors servers and websites for reliability and performance”.

UptimeInspector monitors sites and servers over periods of one minute up to one hour from a number of locations around the world. When a site or a server is experiencing difficulty, an alert - is sent to the server administrator or website owner.

Alerts are provided by SMS, email, instant messaging systems, RSS, or telephone. The system can test PING, SMTP, SSH, Telnet, POP3, IMAP4, MySQL, HTTP(S) and FTP. The system also “extends a common monitoring approach by adding server-specific tests to the simple connection test”, enabling it to not only report a fault, but specify the exact type of fault - server malfunction, invalid web page contents, broken files, an incorrect SQL query response, etc. The system also checks DNS blacklists to establish if a server is banned from delivering mail.

UptimeInspector offers webmasters tests for keyword presence or absence, broken links, load time measurement, MD5 checksum calculation, and SSL certificate expiration. Access rules can be set up to use the proper authentication method, web agent and referrer string, GET and POST parameters, options to load images, frames, scripts and CSS files. UptimeInspector provides an easy-to-use web interface to set up monitoring targets, full documentation, and examples that make it easy to set up even complex monitoring tasks.
