SSD Cloud-hosting Services Provider Linode Launches Singaporean Data Center
Solid State Disk (SSD) cloud-hosting services provider Linode has launched a Singaporean data center. The company, which was established in 2003, offers services to a global base of around 350,000 customers and manages around 580,000 websites. It maintains four data centers in the United States and has another three located in Europe and Asia. Its services start as low as $10 per month but can be scaled to address increases and decreases in its customers' business activity.

Linode's new center is its second in the area (the other is in Tokyo) and underscores its growth in Asia-Pacific - a region Gartner suggests will have market for cloud services that reaches in excess of $7.4 billion in 2015. Its Singaporean center is intended to meet increased demand in the region. Gartner also suggests that Asia Pacific and Japan will grow into an $11.5 billion market.

“We’ve been making simple cloud infrastructure available since 2003,” explained Thomas Asaro, COO of Linode. “Within the next three years APAC cloud-computing usage is forecast to outpace the rest of the world. By launching our data center in Singapore, we’re meeting that demand head-on and showing our commitment to making reliable cloud-hosting services accessible to everyone, everywhere.”
