DeNet and Daplie Inc. (Daplie) have partnered on activity which will lead to a decentralized Internet that does not require centralized data centers to connect people to their devices and personal data.
DeNet, which has headquarters in Hong Kong, is developing a blockchain-based platform that stores data safely (with up to 20 TB of storage space) and “unites computers and servers all over the world into a network to provide decentralized web hosting services”. The company is “the only blockchain-startup that has a web hosting Minimum Viable Product” that offers a transparent payment system that allows people to operate in the sharing economy.
Daplie, which has headquarters in Provo, Utah, United States, was established in 2015. The company offers several services including cloud infrastructure, personal server and clouds, IoT options and blockchain solutions. The company’s platform connects people “to their devices, data, and network” without data being stored on “service-provider” servers. The company’s proprietary ‘Connect’ home server platform “sits at the center of a Web 3.0 ecosystem that includes a blockchain-integrated marketplace”.
DeNet and Daplie’s partnership will allow users to store data at home and potentially draw an income from renting unused storage and computing capacity. “We are obsessed with the idea of giving you control over your digital life, so we are searching for solutions which can provide users full ownership of their data,” explained Rafik Singatullin, the CEO of DeNet. “This partnership is the most natural possible fit—both Daplie and DeNet are built around privacy, security, and protection of user’s data, so our common goals offer an incredible synergy.”
