Continuum Managed Services (Continuum) has acquired managed security company The Carvir Group, Inc. (CARVIR). Continuum, which has headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, was established in 2005. The company “empowers managed IT service providers” by providing the “technology platform, services and processes they need to simplify IT management”. It has around 60,000 small business customers and 800 partners. Continuum offers “1 million endpoints for its 5 customers and web hosting providers protecting more than 250,000 servers”. The acquisition of CARVIR allows the company to offer SIEM and EDR amongst its cybersecurity offerings.
CARVIR, which has headquarters in Cumming, Georgia, United States, was established in 2016. The company specializes in global cyber security and is a “leader in monitored and managed security for the MSP and IT Services channel”. It also offers partners “advanced endpoint security, SIEM, DNS, email, and web gateway security” alongside addressing customers’ compliance requirements in areas like HIPAA, HITECH and PCI.
“Security is the greatest threat to businesses today, and the greatest opportunity for MSPs, and Continuum Security was created to enable the channel to capitalize on these dynamics,” explained Continuum’s CEO, Michael George. “Our partners already benefit from our security solutions and it was clear to us that, by bringing onboard CARVIR’s expertise and technology, we could heighten our partners’ capabilities in this space. In doing so, we’ve been able to rapidly accelerate our own plans to enhance Continuum Security and are now in pole position to fuel our partners’ growth and profitability in cybersecurity and beyond.”
