March 8, 2011
March 8, 2011 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Telehouse, a leading provider of global data centres and managed ICT services, today announced the opening of its new Datacenter in Istanbul/Turkey in partnership with local telecommunications/system integrator company Teknotel Telekomünikasyon.

‘Telehouse Istanbul’ in partnership with Teknotel Telekomünikasyon, will be operational from March 2011 and is Telehouse’s first data center operation in the region. The new carrier neutral data centre facility in Kozyatagi is located on the Asian side of Istanbul and is opened under the Telehouse brand and operated, supported and maintained by Teknotel to Telehouse’s stringent global operating standards.

Alper Selcuk, General Manager of Teknotel Telekomünikasyon comments: ‘Opening a Telehouse facility in Istanbul is a superb opportunity for us to extend our range of products and services in the Turkish market. We are well-known for delivering communication solutions to our corporate customers and, with our Telehouse facility, we can now offer carrier neutral colocation too. Telehouse is the very best name in the international data centre and colocation market and the opening of Telehouse Istanbul comes at an important time when Turkey is opening up rapidly and connectivity, security and continuity are vital to companies located in the City’.

Andrew Fray, Business Development Director at Telehouse says: ‘Turkey is an extremely important market for us, bridging both Europe and Asia. In working with Teknotel we have found a partner with the expertise, focus and willingness to carry the Telehouse brand. Our customers can be confident to expand and place their infrastructure in Telehouse Istanbul which, like all Telehouse facilities around the World, specializes in providing the highest levels of security, power management and cooling. It is important for companies to locate their critical infrastructure in data centres where risk is carefully managed especially in Istanbul which faces some significant physical risk factors, such as flooding and earthquakes.’

‘Telehouse continues to open data centres in countries where we find a local partner with the capability to run superb facilities. We are pleased to extend the Telehouse footprint to Turkey and can now serve the needs of customers and partners in 21 major cities globally’ he adds.

The Istanbul site is supplied by dual power feeds and will be able to provide 4–5 KW per rack. Managed services, remote hands and other services will be available to Telehouse Istanbul clients from the site. In addition to the Kozyatagi site, Telehouse is also planning a second Istanbul data centre in 2012 in partnership/conjunction with Teknotel.

‘Already we are finding that demand for carrier neutral data centre space is building quickly. Senior ICT executives who are making decisions regarding the deployment of their critical infrastructure realize that they now have a wider choice of communication solutions in Istanbul and that they can now house them more strategically and cost-effectively,’ says Alper Selcuk of Teknotel.
