Managed IT Infrastructure Services Provider Terremark Launches The Enterprise Cloud |

June 5, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Managed IT infrastructure services provider Terremark (http://www.terremark.com/) has launched The Enterprise Cloud™ (http://www.theenterprisecloud.com), it was announced yesterday. According to the company, the service “brings cloud computing to the enterprise with a revolutionary new managed platform for mission-critical applications and infrastructure”. It has been designed “from the ground up to meet the needs of enterprises and their mission-critical applications”.
The Enterprise Cloud is powered by an enhanced version of Terremark’s industry-leading Infinistructure™ utility computing platform and provides customers with an enterprise-class, Internet-optimized computing infrastructure which allows them to “deploy fully configured production servers in minutes”.
“Terremark’s Enterprise Cloud clients buy a dedicated resource pool of processing, memory, storage and networking, from which they can deploy servers on demand,” explained Terremark’s Senior Vice President of Product Development, Randy Rowland. “This ‘Gigahertz and Gigabytes’ model gives customers more flexibility and agility over the traditional serverbased model, allowing for a precise and dynamic allocation of computing resources as needed.”
The service’s customers can provision, group and organize servers offering Microsoft Windows, Linux and Sun Solaris operating systems using Terremark’s new Infinicenter™ web portal. They can also add bandwidth on demand, which is available from “more than 160 global carriers”. The system also provides full reporting features.
