Web Hosting and Domain Name Provider GoDaddy Offers Advance “.Mobi” Domain Registration
August 30, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting and domain name provider GoDaddy (https://www.godaddy.com) is offering advance “.Mobi” domain registration, the company announced today. “.Mobi” is an ICANN accredited top-level domain (TLD) leading mobile operators, network device manufacturers and Internet content providers have created for Internet access through mobile devices.
GoDaddy.com is offering its customers the opportunity to pre-register “.Mobi” domain names during the two-week “Landrush registration period” starting September 26, 2006. All customers who register “.Mobi” domain names through GoDaddy.com receive free hosting, email and a web site builder which enables them to create “.Mobi”-compliant web sites and host them through GoDaddy.com. Those customers wishing only to hold “.Mobi” name can set up a placeholder page.
“.Mobi” was launched in May with a “Sunrise registration period” which allowed members of the mobile industry to register trademarks as “.Mobi” domain names. The Trademark Sunrise runs until September 22, 2006.
