Go Daddy Deploys the SecureSphere Web Application Firewall, Imperva Announces

July 29, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Go Daddy (http://www.godaddy.com) has deployed the SecureSphere Web Application Firewall (WAF), it was announced recently. According its developers, Imperva, the move comes as part of Go Daddy’s security measures “to protect its website and all of its Quick Shopping Cart customers”.

The addition of SecureSphere enabled Go Daddy to comply with requirement 6.6 of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), which, according to the company, “mandates that a WAF be deployed or code review be performed to secure web applications that process payment card data”. The deadline for compliance passed June 30, 2008.

"Our Quick Shopping Cart product generated more than 55 million dollars for our customers last year alone,’ explained Bob Parsons, CEO and Founder of GoDaddy.com. “There's no sign of slowing - in fact, online spending is predicted to grow by more than 17% in the next year according to Forrester Research. We understand the need of top level security for our customers and ourselves. We chose Imperva SecureSphere because we believe they are the very best. Protecting our customers and keeping the Internet safe is a top priority at Go Daddy."

"The SecureSphere Web Application Firewall was designed to meet the requirements of the largest and most demanding environments on the Web, like GoDaddy.com," added Imperva President and CEO, Shlomo Kramer. "The decision by GoDaddy.com to deploy Imperva is a powerful endorsement for the robustness of our platform in terms of both security and scalability. Protecting GoDaddy.com and its tens of thousands of Quick Shopping Cart customers is a proud achievement for Imperva."

Imperva provides activity monitoring, real-time protection, and risk management solutions for business applications and data. The company’s solutions provide full visibility into sensitive data, database and application access, enabling “granular control and maintenance of critical data”. Imperva provides services to "4500 of the world's leading enterprises and government organizations”.

Go Daddy manages 30 million domains and offers a wide range of hosting solutions, website creation tools, SSL certificates, email, and ecommerce tools such as its Quick Shopping Cart application.
