November 4, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web host and domain name provider Go Daddy (http://www.godaddy.com) was sponsor of the "Walk to Cure Diabetes" event held at Tempe Town Lake in Tempe, Arizona, USA, it was reported recently. The company donated more than $135,000 to the event, which was held by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF) Desert Southwest Chapter. A non-profit organization, the mission of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International is to “find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research”. 750 Go Daddy participants took part in the event.

"Our Go Daddy employees are passionate, enthusiastic, energetic people who want to make a difference," explained Mr. Bob Parsons, Go Daddy’s CEO and Founder. "Helping in the fight to cure Type 1 Diabetes is important to us, especially when you consider how many people are affected by this devastating disease. This walk was a way we could raise money and awareness, plus have a good time doing it."

Diabetes affects 246 million people worldwide with 1.5 million people are diagnosed with the disease in the United States every year. This is the second year Go Daddy has sponsored the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons donated $125,000 while the “Go Daddy corporate team” raised $10,000.

"Go Daddy is committed to supporting the community they serve and also their employees," said Einar Seadler, JDRF Desert Southwest Chapter Board of Directors President. "Bringing together more than 750 walkers Saturday shows their passion and partnership in finding a cure for diabetes. JDRF depends on Bob Parsons and his entire team to make a difference."

Go Daddy is recognized as the world's largest domain registrar and a major Web host. The company is also the second largest provider of SSL certificates. Its support for JDRF is part of an ongoing policy of supporting worthwhile causes. Go Daddy has given contributions to a range of organizations and causes including Parkinson's research, flood victims, injured veterans, animal shelters and homeless teenagers, donating $1.5 million last year alone.
