Mac OS X Web Hosting Available Through Go Daddy

February 25, 2010 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Go Daddy, the world's leader in domain name registrations and dominant Web hosting provider, officially introduced its Mac Hosting solution, Cloud Server powered by Mac OS X. The new virtual dedicated servers provide the power of a dedicated Mac OS X server for a fraction of the cost.

A first of its kind, the Go Daddy Mac OS X server gives customers everything they need without being an IT Administrator. Go Daddy's technical staff supplies the support to keep the server up and running, so customers can manage a number of native Mac OS X Server applications. Some of the apps include Mail Services, Hosting, iChat Server, Wiki Server and iCal Server. Users and applications are managed via a Mac interface and its open architecture allows companies with Mac and Windows users to connect to the server.

"Offering Mac OS X hosting gives our customers the ability to use an Apple server without spending a lot of money," said Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons. "Partnering with Apple and Parallels made it all happen. Go Daddy's customer service, combined with Apple's usability and Parallels' innovation make this a big win for our customers."

Based on Apple's enterprise-class Xserve and Parallels technology, the service provides the usability Apple is known for with the reliability of Go Daddy hosting. All Go Daddy Web hosting plans are backed by world-class, 24/7 customer care.

The plans range depending on the size of the company or project. Customers can also choose how much RAM, storage and bandwidth they want depending on their server needs. If a customer needs to upgrade at a later date, the plans are elastic, giving customers flexibility to upgrade when they need.

"With Apple reporting a 33% year-on-year increase in sales of Macintosh computers, it's clear there is considerable demand for Mac OS X-based cloud services," said Jack Zubarev, President, Service Provider Division, Parallels. "We are very pleased to work with Go Daddy to help them meet this demand and launch the first mass-market Mac OS X cloud services based on Parallels Server for Mac Bare Metal Edition."
