Web Hosting and Domain Name Provider Go Daddy to Sponsor US College Football |

September 13, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting and domain name provider Go Daddy (http://www.godaddy.com) will sponsor college football in the United States, it was announced yesterday. The company will sponsor ESPN TV’s Saturday night college football games from September 22, 2007. Go Daddy will become “official presenting sponsor” of Saturday night games which “feature on-air announcements, logo placement and a number of commercials on the sports network and its affiliates, including ABC TV”. Go Daddy’s sponsorship deal also includes airtime for commercials during the NASCAR Nextel Cup, plus several college football bowls, including the Capital One, Liberty and Alamo Bowl games.
"This is an audience we really like. The vast majority are Internet users, and the best part of it is these viewers are absolutely passionate," explained Bob Parsons, Go Daddy’s CEO and Founder. "Our research shows college football fans rank third for fan intensity behind the NFL and NASCAR." Go Daddy was a broadcast sponsor for this year’s Indianapolis 500 Race and sponsored IndyCar driver and Go Daddy Girl Danica Patrick.
Go Daddy gained a reputation for quirky Super Bowl advertising, which was initially censored for being too risque. The company plans to broadcast a range of advertisements and is currently working with a production company to create new “GoDaddy-esque” commercials featuring an “unnamed NFL star”.
“It’s funny, the same network that rejected so many of our commercials for the 2006 Super Bowl (ABC) is going to allow us to air a spot that CBS refused to air for last year’s Super Bowl,” Parsons added. |
