July 25, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – A promising new initiative designed to meet the needs of the web hosting community was launched today. The Hosting Industry Organization (http://www.hostingindustryorg.com/) is a new website that offers a range of tools for web hosts, including a directory, classifieds, job postings, and a list of hosting companies for sale. The initiative harnesses a key LinkedIn.com group created for professional web hosts.
The initiative is the brainchild of Mr. Ben Welch-bolen, one of the owners of Bweeb Inc., and a ten-year veteran of the web hosting industry who has “done everything” including starting his own hosting companies, and working for one of the largest hosting companies in the industry, to providing web hosting marketing services.
Asked what the motivation behind his initiative was, Mr. Welch-bolen suggested, “We built this group and website to enable the hosting industry to find contacts and solutions easily and quickly. LinkedIn is great but having a stronger more specific network that will help you find answers and resources is even better. I like helping people and am happy to do this as a fun project on the side”.
Utilizing a PHP and MySQL design, the site currently has all the major features it was initially designed to offer, but will remain flexible to meet the requirements of the industry. “We are open to any ideas and suggestions and we are going to add more as it grows,” explained Mr. Welch-bolen. “The design isn't very pretty at the moment, but it is simple and functional”.
Asked when the site will be finished Mr. Welch-bolen suggested, “Never hopefully, we would be happy for the site to develop and change as the hosting industry does over the next ten years. We hope to build a site where members of the hosting industry can list their various companies, find members who provide services they require, post job openings or their resumes, and list their hosting or related companies for sale.”
The site offers a straightforward registration procedure and as a member you get full use of the free tools on the site as well as becoming a member of the related LinkedIn group. From there you can find other members if you need help with a project, a new employee, marketing advice, and so on. |
