Web Hosting Solutions Provider The Planet and EV1 Merge |

May 10, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – ‘Enterprise level’ web hosting solutions provider The Planet (http://www. theplanet.com) and Everyones Internet (EV1 – http://www.ev1servers.net) have announced their merger, creating an ‘industry-leading Dedicated Hosting company’. The two companies’ current customers will continue to receive the products and services they utilized before the merger.
The organization emerging from the merger will hold 50,000 dedicated servers and cater for some 20,000 clients, creating the largest dedicated hosting provider in the web hosting industry. Investment firm GI Partners, who have considerable web hosting and data center experience, purchased controlling interest in both companies to create the new entity.

EV1 is based in Houston, Texas and provides dedicated internet services to small and mid-sized companies. The Planet has been in existence for over a decade and provides hosting solutions to businesses and private users. Established in 2001, GI Partners has $500 million in financial backing from CB Richard Ellis and CALPERS, a major pension fund. |
