Web Hosting Provider The Planet Extends Entry-level Server Configurability

December 19, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider The Planet (http://www.theplanet.com) has extended the configurability of its economy servers, particularly on its Celeron 2.0, Pentium 4-2.4 and the Conroe 3040 models, the company announced yesterday.

The Planet, which bills itself as “the world’s largest privately held dedicated hosting company”, has extended full server hardware and software configurability. Customers are now able to add additional RAM or upgrade hard drives to satisfy power requirements for “entry-level” servers.

“Customers have indicated a preference for more powerful entry-level options, and we’re responding,” explained Urvish Vashim Director of Product Management at The Planet. “Together with our extensive server fleet, any company looking for hosting requirements can find what they need at The Planet. In addition, our six world-class data centers provide unparalleled network quality, with around-the-clock service and support.”

The Planet is a provider of on demand IT Infrastructure solutions that caters for more than 22,000 small- and medium-size businesses and hosts around 3.1 million web sites worldwide.
