Web Host The Planet Chooses NTT America to Facilitate IPv6 |

March 25, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web host The Planet (http://www.theplanet.com) will offer customers IPv6, the “next-generation Internet protocol”, it was announced yesterday. NTT America Inc. (HTTP://www.nttamerica.com), a US subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, will facilitate the technology across The Planet’s network. Work on developing the capability has begun and its expected availability is late 2008.

IPv6 supersedes the current IPv4 deployed in the 1980s. IPv6 offers a range of improvements on its predecessor, increasing address space, providing support for mobile devices, and improving quality of service and data security. NTT Communications Group has been directly involved with the development and deployment of IPv6 technology since 1996.
