Web Host The Planet Announces November Server Promotions
November 11, 2008 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web host The Planet (http://www.theplanet.com) has announced new lower pricing on select servers from its high-performance portfolio. The servers, hosted in The Planets world-class data centers, offer customers significant cost savings on their IT operations.
Beginning today, the powerful Dual Xeon 5405 is priced at $299 per month, a savings of 25 percent. The server features a 250GB hard drive with 2GB of RAM. Also discounted is the Xeon 3210, priced at $179 per month, down from $199. The Xeon 3060 has been reduced to $169 per month, formerly $179.
Customers can save more than 50 percent on two Dual Xeon models. The DX 2.8 is now priced at $125 per month, down from $259, and the DX 3.2 is priced at $135 per month, down from $299. Additionally, pricing on the Celeron 2.0, The Planets lowest-priced server, is now $69 per month, formerly $89.
The cost of IT infrastructure for small- and medium-sized businesses is a chief concern, said Urvish Vashi, The Planets general manager for dedicated servers. By taking advantage of these promotions on our Planet Alpha dedicated servers, customers can benefit from even more attractive pricing options, backed by our enterprise-class network and world-class data centers.
This week the company is also discounting its data protection servers, secure backup appliances featuring CDPServer software from R1Soft. Data protection servers with 1TB of storage capacity are now priced at $319 per month, and servers with 6TB of capacity are priced at $929.
Lastly, the company is relaunching Double Down Select, which provides customers the choice of doubling hard drive space, RAM or bandwidth for free on select servers.
