Mr. Tony Drewitt has joined hybrid cloud data protection solutions provider
Acronis. Acronis, which has global headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts, United States, was established in 2003. The company offers a range of services including backup, disaster recovery, and secure file sync and share solutions for business. Its solutions are powered by its proprietary Acronis AnyData Engine and offer “affordable data protection of all files, applications and operating systems across any environment—virtual, physical, cloud and mobile”. The company caters to around 500,000 businesses in more than 145 countries. Mr. Drewitt joins the company as General Manager for Australia and New Zealand.
A 25-year veteran with tremendous commercial experience and expertise in sales, Mr. Drewitt held an executive position at Veritas and was in charge of APAC Global Alliances and Service Provider channel activity at the company before joining Acronis. He has also held high-level positions at a range of companies including Symantec, Juniper Networks, IBM, Vodafone and British Telecom. Beyond this, he co-founded Wireless Logic and held senior positions at London-based EuroBrokers.
In his new role he will be in charge of Acronis’ sales, marketing and business development activities with particular emphasis on its hybrid cloud data protection business in Australia and New Zealand – two “strategic growth markets” for the company.
“Businesses in the ANZ region need to re-evaluate their data protection strategies to make sure they are safe – there’s no time waste,” explained the Vice President of Sales for Asia-Pacific and Emerging Markets at Acronis, Steve Goh. “With Tony’s deep knowledge of our target customer needs, extensive experience in channel management, and a true understanding of the value of cloud services and solutions, Tony will bring a great value to Acronis and the local market,” he added.
