Ubersmith Debuts Infrastructure Health Monitoring at HostingCon, Solves Server Performance SLAs

August 2, 2007
August 2, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Ubersmith, Inc. (http://www.ubersmith.com), creator of integrated billing, management and customer support solutions for the web hosting industry, announced yesterday the launch date for its next-generation Infrastructure Health Monitoring module, fully integrated into the newest version of Ubersmith Datacenter Edition (DE). The company unveiled the latest feature additions to the product last week at HostingCon 2007, held in Chicago, USA.

The new module allows datacenter staff, hosting companies, managed services operations, corporate IT departments and network operation centers (NOCs), to proactively manage and automate notification thresholds for mission critical infrastructure, specifically for the health and performance of servers, switches and firewalls. By monitoring key metrics on all infrastructure in hosting environments, including system load, memory usage, processor usage, and storage capacity, administrators can be alerted when actions should be taken to ensure optimal service performance for each individual customer.

“In even the most advanced hosting companies, impending hardware failures or performance bottlenecks on individual servers often never reach customer support or sales personnel until it's all too late,” said Dan Cech, lead software architect for Ubersmith. “We’re changing the paradigm by allowing hosting companies to offer a new level of support and managed services to their clientele. Instead of waiting for hardware to fail, Ubersmith DE advises administrators proactively of impending failures and performance issues and provides relevant historical information so the problem can be addressed quickly.”

“By combining Infrastructure Health Monitoring with our existing device, customer, and support management platform, we are able to provide an integrated view of vital information in a single, customer-centric portal,” said Matthew Toback, CEO of Ubersmith “This important addition, combined with monitoring, historical archiving and customizable alerts for hardware performance and key metrics, enables companies to attain a whole new level of support and profitability.”

Ubersmith Datacenter Edition 1.5, which includes the new Infrastructure Health Monitoring module, will be released to customers on September 3, 2007.

Built on the Ubersmith billing and support product, version 1.0 of Ubersmith Datacenter Edition was initially released last December and has since grown to support the top echelon of facilities-based hosting companies in the industry.
