Undercover Sting Operation Nabs Internet Sex Predator

August 12, 2005 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) - Attorney General Mike Cox announced today the arrest of a Davison School District bus driver for using the Internet to commit child sexual abuse.

"With back to school right around the corner for thousands of Michigan students, it is vital that we keep them safe," said Cox. "My office and our
team of investigators will not allow sexual predators to prey on the children of our state."

Attorney General investigators arrested Richard Carl Long, 46, at his home in Genesee Township Wednesday. He was arraigned Wednesday in 67th District Court before Judge Mark McCabe on one count of Child Sexually Abusive Activity and one count of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime, both 20-year felonies.

Long was also arraigned on eight counts of Using a Computer to Distribute Obscene Matter to a Minor, a four-year felony. Judge McCabe set his bond at
$500,000.
