Web Hosting Provider Verio Announces Linux Managed Private Server (MPS)
April 19, 2007 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web hosting provider Verio (http://www.verio.com) has announced the launch of a Linux Managed Private Server (MPS) solution, which it says will free businesses from IT management. The offering is the latest addition to the companys 360-Degree Managed Servers Suite of Services.
According to Verio, its Linux MPS delivers cost-efficient Linux hosting to mid-market and small businesses, as well as solution provider partners, including independent software vendors, web developers and IT professionals. Built on Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES version 4, Verios solution offers a range of features including managed backup of business data, a raid array, managed security patches and fully managed hardware and software updates. It also provides added security through a new preinstalled, preconfigured firewall functionality that protects businesses from denial-of-service (DoS) attacks and guards against hackers. Depending on the Linux MPS hosting plan chosen, Verios system also permits adding up to 50 IP addresses on a single physical server.
"Our Linux MPS delivers a robust and reliable open source managed web hosting solution for businesses, including resellers and developers, who have more complex hosting requirements and need to do more than just host a simple Web site, but don't want the bother of managing hardware and software upgrades or security patch deployment," explained Verios President and CEO, Kiyoshi Maeda. "With this offering, Verio has worked to expand its popular MPS to the Linux platform, as well as to offer the latest applications and other technology enhancements. We've not only answered customer requests, but have continued to show support for the small to midsize business community who will benefit from this type of solution."
