Verio Announces Japanese Internet Service Provider NTT Plala to Migrate SMB Users to Verio’s Shared Hosting Platform
July 17, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Japanese Internet Service Provider NTT Plala (http://biz.plala.or.jp/) will migrate 95% of its SMB users to Verio’s shared hosting platform, it was announced recently. According to the company, the move, which was available from June 2, 2008, will provide NTT Plala customers with a “mid-priced solution designed specifically for their growing business needs”. In addition, select NTT Plala Inc. customers will move to NTT Plala Inc.’s new product line, Business Server-Standard with Virtual Private Server (VPS), built on Verio VPS technology.
“With the support of NTT Plala Inc., Verio has gained a significant footprint in the Japanese market. Verio is now able to further build its small and home business user base, a rapidly growing global segment,” explained Verio President and Chief Executive Officer, Kiyoshi Maeda. “NTT Plala Inc. can now meet customers’ needs for high- and low-end pricing options based on functionality requirements and, with Verio’s award-winning quality standards, also surpass the high service level expectations in the Japanese market.”
“A significant portion” of NTT Plala Inc.’s customers are in the “Japanese small and home user space”, and its cooperation with Verio offers these customers hosting plans with “advanced features at affordable price points”. Verio’s shared hosting platform is available with a range of pricing options.
NTT Plala Inc. was founded in 1995 and catered for 2.56 million customers at the end of 2007. The company provides IP telephony services and broadband video distribution services alongside Internet connection and security services.
