Vidicom Launches Merchant Service
| December 16, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Vidicom Ltd. (http://www.vidicom.co.uk), leaders in SMS products and services used by TV broadcast stations, nightclubs, radio stations, education and local authorities, has launched a new merchant service that provides an alternative to credit/debit cards by allowing users to pay for items on their mobile phone bill through premium text messaging (PSMS). Known as Mobill Cash (http://www.mobillcash.com), the payment method has been tested on a number of websites in 6 countries and has indicated the system works without “cannibalizing” more established payment methods. According to the company’s figures, clients using Mobill Cash in the UK increased revenues by up to $1000 per hour. "Today's growing concerns over payment fraud such as credit cards, means people want simpler, safer alternatives as well as increased convenience. PSMS provides this as well as being totally discreet whilst allowing companies to open up to enhanced mobile services," suggested Glyn Smith, Vidicom's Managing Director. |
