Web Development Platform Wix Chooses G Suite for Cloud Productivity Offering
February 17, 2018
In a move that strengthens its alliance with Google Cloud, Wix has chosen ‘G Suite’ as a cloud productivity offering to customers. Wix, which has headquarters in Tel Aviv, Israel, is the cloud-based development platform for 122 million users globally. The solution allows users to create websites of a range of complexities without coding through a drag and drop interface. It is popular with a broad range of users and available free of charge or on a premium basis for access to its full range of functionalities. Wix’s move to offer G Suite is seen as a strengthening of it partnership with Google Cloud and a bid to expand its presence in SMB arena.
With headquarters in Mountain View, California, United States, Google is a major cloud player competing with the likes of Microsoft Azure, Amazon web Services (AWS) and IBM. G Suite is one of its flagship offerings and competes with Microsoft’s Office 365 product. It brings together features such as Google Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, and Google Calendar in a single interface that can be branded with a company’s identity. G Suite works across all devices and operating systems for a fully integrated collaboration and productivity solution. As small businesses often rely on Wix for a viable web presence, there is a perfect fit between the two organizations’ offerings.
"We consistently strive to deliver the best products and services to our users, and pride ourselves on anticipating the features and functionality that they will need for success,” explained Wix’s CMO, Omer Shai. “Integration with G Suite is a benefit to the businesses of our users, and marks our continued relationship with the Google team". "We are delighted to be part of Wix's growth and we will continue to help SMBs get the best of Google Cloud as part of our strategic partnership with Wix," added Google Cloud’s Head of Online Partnerships, Yuval Dvir.
