Web Host 1&1 and Domain Marketplace and Monetization Provider Sedo Form Partnership
Web host 1&1 Internet, Inc. (1&1) and domain marketplace and monetization provider have formed a partnership. A subsidiary of United Internet, 1&1 has headquarters in Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, United States. Established in 1988, the company provides a range of quality services including managed cloud options, domain registration services, email hosting options, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) services and cloud applications. Sedo has headquarters in Cologne, Germany with an office in Boston, Massachusetts, United States.

Sedo offers “the world’s largest database of domain names for sale” with in excess of 18 million domains listed. The company caters to a customer base of around 2 million “domain professionals” globally. The partnership will see 1&1 offer Sedo’s domain marketplace services to its 16.75 million customers.

Sedo’s marketplace gives domains high visibility and accessibility. 1&1 customers will have access to premium domain names that are only available through a secondary market that includes back registration and auctions for extremely rare names. SedoMLS also provides access to than 700 new generic top-level domain (gTLD) extensions. In addition, if the domain name a customer is looking for isn’t available Sedo’s system generates alternative names for the customer to consider.

“1&1’s integration of SedoMLS provides our customers access to a vast network with the best domain name options”, explained 1&1’s CEO Robert Hoffmann. “This will not only boost our customers’ success in targeted domain searches, but also increase the likelihood of finding the right domain name for their web project.”
