Hetzner Online AG has participated in a 'Volunteers Day' in Falkenstein, Germany. Fifteen of the company's Falkenstein Data Center Park employees were involved in renovating the 'Knirpsenland' children's day care center and helping improve the surroundings so they are more attractive. German actress Alexandra Neldel was also present at the proceedings - Ms. Neldel is a German Goodwill Ambassador for Habitat for Humanity, the charity the event was benefitting.
"I am delighted that a company such as Hetzner Online AG is actively supporting social projects at home as well as abroad, involving employees in its own country and making this joint campaign with Habitat for Humanity possible," explained Ms. Neldel.
Hetzner Online was established in 1997 and offers a range of hosting products to private and business customers both in Germany and aboard. The company prides itself on "stable technology, attractive pricing and flexible support and service". It has supported African Habitat for Humanity projects since 2010.
Established in 1976, Habitat for Humanity provides support for the building of housing for "needy families" in around 90 countries globally. The organization benefits from donations and is run by volunteers. A key part of its activity includes reconstruction in areas where there have been disasters. It has built and renovated around 600,000 houses and helped 3 million people to date. Celebrities involved in the charity include former US President Jimmy Carter and Brad Pitt.
"As a company with clients all over the world, we are very aware of our social responsibility. We live this responsibility by helping globally and, with the active support of our employees here in Falkenstein, by getting actively involved at a local level too," explained Hetzner Online's Head of Marketing, Christian Fitz.
