March 3, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web host and data center operator iomart Group has won a major UK contract, it was announced recently. The 5-year contract with the “UK's leading telecom operator” is worth £6.75M ($13.4M) and sees the company provide managed data center facilities. An option for the company to develop more revenue through providing additional managed services remains.
"We are pleased to announce our first significant customer for our datacenter facilities,” explained the company’s CEO, Angus MacSween. “The thorough diligence process that we had to go through to secure this contract confirms the quality of our data center portfolio and our managed hosting capability".
iomart owns and runs datacenters in key UK locations - Glasgow, London, Leicester and Nottingham - offering around 3,500 square meters of “high specification, secure and fully redundant data center space”.
