Web host Digital Pacific has acquired managed hosting provider
Anchor. Digital Pacific, which has headquarters in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, caters to “individuals, small to medium-sized businesses and corporations”. The company boasts “true 24/7 Australian based support” and its suite of services includes VPS, dedicated servers, business and reseller hosting alongside backup and recovery options. Its acquisition of Anchor “brings together two heavyweight hosting providers in the Australian market”.
Anchor, which also has headquarters in Sydney, was established in 2000. It is a leading managed hosting services provider offering AWS and cloud hosting services. Outside of Australia the company has “distributed teams” in the United Kingdom and the United States. It prides itself on “responsive customer service and technical expertise that stretches all the way from Sydney, Australia right into the heart of Silicon Valley”. Anchor’s customers include Silicon Valley-based companies such as GitHub and TestFlight. Financial aspects of the deal were not released but it was revealed the two companies will continue to operate independently.

Digital Pacific and Anchor have highly complementary skill-sets and this acquisition enables Anchor to continue doing what we do best - helping our customers succeed in the new software economy."
