Web Host Go Daddy Beats Own Charity Record

January 6, 2009 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web host Go Daddy has beaten its own record for donations to charity, it was reported recently. The company’s “philanthropic contributions” in 2008 reached a total of $1.7 million – bettering last year’s record of $1.4 million. Charities local to Go Daddy and national and international charities all benefited from the company’s generosity.

"Why not give back? Our company had its best year ever,” explained Bob Parsons, Go Daddy’s CEO and Founder. “Considering our country is in the midst of an economic recession now is exactly the time to help out good organizations and people less fortunate."

Go Daddy has supported a number of causes over the last two years. These include domestic violence, child abuse, disabled children, teenage homelessness, Parkinson's research, breast cancer, and animal shelters. Charities that have benefited from Go Daddy’s generosity include Arizona Children's Association, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Make A Wish Foundation, Toys for Tots, Arizona Humane Society, Phoenix Zoo, Chrysalis, HomeBase Youth Services and The Salvation Army.

Go Daddy bills itself as “a leading provider of services that enable individuals and businesses to establish, maintain and evolve an online presence”. The company provides domain name registration, website design and hosting packages alongside services such as SSL certificates, domains by proxy private registration, ecommerce hosting, blog templates and blog software, podcast packages and online photo hosting. The company currently caters for “more than 32 million domain names”.
