Web Host GoDaddy Acquires WordPress Hosting Specialist ManageWP
Web host GoDaddy Inc. (GoDaddy) has acquired WordPress hosting specialist ManageWP. GoDaddy, which has headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States, is recognized as being one of the world's largest hosting providers with “the world's largest cloud platform” focused on solutions for SMEs and larger organizations that require a professional website. Established in 1997, the company has a presence in a number of countries including India. Its purchase of ManageWP will allow GoDaddy to offer a “single destination for best-In-class WordPress management and hosting” by enhancing its WordPress management tools.

WordPress is an Open Source (OS) Content Management Solution (CMS) that is available free of charge. It is the leading CMS on the internet, with WordPress underpinning roughly 20% of all websites. It is supported by a global community who create free and commercial addons and templates that change the look, feel and functionality of websites. ManageWP, which has headquarters in Belgrade, Serbia, bills itself as offering “everything a true WordPress professional needs, like security scans, uptime monitoring, SEO, plugin and theme management, analytics, sub user access, content moderation, and a lot more”. Financial aspects of the deal have not been released.

"GoDaddy and ManageWP have a shared vision to empower the WordPress community and build great technology," explained ManageWP's founder, Vladimir Prelovac. "We're both powered by the cloud, which will simplify product integration and accelerate next-generation product development. Combining both companies is a great win for web developers and designers around the world."
