Web Host GoDaddy Partners Website Security Company SiteLock
Web host GoDaddy has partnered with website security company SiteLock. The partnership means GoDaddy’s customers will now benefit from a service that leverages a number of scanning techniques to protect websites from a range of online threats including malware and viruses, and vulnerabilities such as suspicious code and “back door” access.

When a website is completed, SiteLock scans the site using an “inside-and-out scanning technology” which finds “malware, spam, SQL injections, cross-site scripting (XSS) and application vulnerabilities”. Once scanned and proven not to contain any malware, viruses, or vulnerabilities, a website can show the “SiteLock Trust Seal” to indicate it is fully secure. Should any issue be detected, a report is emailed to the website owner highlighting any threats. SiteLock can also automatically correct a number of issues.

"Offering SiteLock through GoDaddy made a lot of sense -- they were looking to provide complete website security solution to their customers," added Tom Serani, Executive Vice President of Business Development at SiteLock. "Given the GoDaddy footprint in the SMB market, this strategic relationship is directly in line with SiteLock's goal of quickly spreading awareness among small and mid-size businesses about the risk of online threats and steps they can take to protect their companies and customers."
