Web Host Hivelocity Acquires IaaS Provider Rack Alley
Web host Hivelocity Hosting (Hivelocity) has acquired Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider Rack Alley. Hivelocity, which has headquarters in Tampa, Florida, United States, was established in 2001. The company offers a range of services including dedicated servers, colocation and cloud hosting. It caters to a global customer base through HIPAA, PCI, ISAE-3402, SSAE 16 SOC1 & SOC2-certified data centers across the United States. Through its purchase of Rack Alley, Hivelocity has enhanced its presence in the Los Angeles, California area of the United States.

Rack Alley, which has headquarters in Los Angeles, California, United States, provides a range of services through Tier III data center facilities. These include colocation, dedicated servers, and cloud hosting. Other options it provides include Microsoft Hosted Exchange, server management, and networking and security options. Rack Alley’s facilities will be absorbed by Hivelocity, as will its employees.

“We surveyed our customer base earlier this year and LA was high on their list of places they wanted us to expand to,” explained Hivelocity's Vice President of Colocation, Rick Nicholas. “In addition to Los Angeles, New York City was right there at the top of the list. As part of our national expansion strategy we intend to seek opportunities in New York City with the hopes of an announcement there before the end of this year.”
