November 14, 2008 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) - Web host Hosted Solutions (http://www.hostedsolutions.com) has signed an agreement with Belk.com, it was reported recently. The US company, which bills itself as “the East Coast’s premier data center and managed services provider”, will offer hosting and managed services for an updated Belk.com website, in what is being called a “multimillion dollar deal”.
Hosted Solutions will provide a multi-site ecommerce infrastructure including fully managed, dedicated hardware across Windows, Linux, and Solaris Operating Systems, SAN and NAS storage platforms, managed virtualization, clustered firewalls, IDS/IPS, load-balancing, high availability clustering and comprehensive 24/7 monitoring and management.

The new Belk.com offers a “state-of-the-art online shopping channel” which provides an “entirely new online shopping experience”. With more than 50,000 items available for purchase, the site offers top brand name fashion apparel, and accessories and shoes alongside cosmetics and home and gift merchandise. In addition, Belk offers “exclusive private brands”. The site aims to extend its range to 100,000 items by the end of the year.
